    • - Anthony Mannara, known as Mr. Mannara at WCwas born on March 21st1976 and grew up going to Churchville where he played 3 sports – Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball. He then went to Brockport for college and where he majored in accounting & PE before switching to being a math teacher. Mr. Mannara started working at Wheatland in 1999 right after college and currently lives in Churchville with his wife of 12 years, his 9-year-old daughter named Isabella and 8-year-old son named Brody.

    • - “There are 3 reasons why I became a teacher. Reasons 1: June, reason 2: July, and reason 3: August... Just kidding. He always enjoyed math and sports and wanted a job where he could make a difference. After majoring in accounting, he realized although it makes good money, he could not see himself doing that forever and found becoming a teacher where he could teach math and coach sports was the perfect opportunity to do what he loved.

    • - Mr. Mannara wanted to work at Wheatland because when he first graduated college, he applied to every school in section 5 and Wheatland was the first district to offer a job right out of college. Feeling very lucky for the opportunity to start a job so quickly with no experience, htook the job and has now only ever worked at Wheatland.

    • - Some of Mr. Mannara’s favorite things include the New York Yankees who he has followed since he was a kid, and he has also grown into a little bit of a Bills fan over the yearsHe likes all sports and has also grown to like most music as most of his students know that it is always a surprise to see what Pandora will shuffle during class that day. He also enjoys playing board games and is very competitive and won’t even let his kids beat him as he says that he is not the parent to let his kids win and explains, “they will have to earn their first or any victory against me”. Mr. Mannara’s favorite food is homemade nachos with all the toppings and “fresh cheese, not the sauce” and his favorite restaurant is chilies.

    • - An interesting fact about Mr. Mannara goes to the year of 2000 when he went on a free vacation to 8 countries in Europe for 11 days with a girl that he had only known for 30 minutes. How did this happen? After going to Toronto with a friend to see a Yankees game, he met a girl from LA, and she won this free trip for 2 people. Since she couldn’t decide on which of her friends to take, she chose Mr. Mannara, a total stranger, to go to England, France, Amsterdam, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy with.
