Wheatland-Chili Varsity Swim Team: 2020-2021 Season

I, Alannah McLean, am a part of the Wheatland-Chili Varsity Swim team. This swim season has been very different from any of the past 4 years that I’ve done swimming, but it was not necessarily for the worst. I still enjoyed our season and we still got to do many of the things that we normally enjoy doing, like our annual Freshman Run. Although we could not visit one of our favorite places to go eat, Ralph and Rosie’s, we did still manage to find ways to have fun despite the situation. But now, our season is coming to a close as we finish up our final couple of weeks and approach sectionals. We have put forth a lot of effort during these troubling times and have found a way to make our sport safe and acceptable for COVID-19 guidelines, and to keep it alive. On our team, we have a few girls who have already qualified for sectionals (which will be happening Saturday, February 6th!) and we have a couple more who hopefully will qualify soon! I am overall satisfied with the outcome of our season, but I cannot wait to get back into the normal routine and enjoy the things that we once would on the Wheatland-Chili Varsity Swim Team.
