Happy Diwali ! This week is a five day Hindu celebration of lights! In India, it’s the most important and biggest holiday of the year . The festival gets it’s name from the row of clay lamps that people use to decorate their homes to symbolize their inner light , to protect them from spiritual darkness. Trans Identity - O. Passmore

The Trans Identity By: Olivia Passmore   I yearn for the days in which I will feel at one with myself. What am I to do when I cannot even look myself in the eye? How do I accept myself while knowing this is not the earthly body in which I am meant to occupy? I stare and stare and receive nothing but contempt in return. My hair is too short. Lips too pursed. Eyes too wide, cheeks too flushed, forehead too long. How am I meant to change these things in which cause me restlessness When I am stuck in a society that persecutes my very existence? I know who I am. I know what I am meant to be. So let society persecute me if I dare to destroy all that is holy and let myself be reborn. Let society scream in the name of its foreign god and strike me down with the weight of heaven. I will make peace with myself one day, And I will leave society behind me.
